One of the most impressive places we`ve visited in Iceland is the so called Diamond Beach. It is located on the south coast of Iceland, where the glacier Vatnajökull is calving into the lake Jökulsárlón. Vatnajökull is known as the biggest glacier in Europe. From the glacial lake Jökulsárlón the big ice cubes are floating along a short river into the sea.

Depending on the tides of the ocean you can find sometimes a lot of these ice cubes on the beach. It is a spectacular scenery for taking pictures. Especially long-term exposures can give you some interesting results. For me it is definitely one of Icelands highlights and one of the most spectacular places I have ever seen.
